ACI Concrete Finisher Practice Test

Finish order is the sequence in which you perform the finishing actions on the surface of the freshly placed concrete. It specifies which tasks come first and the timing between them, such as screeding, floating, edging, jointing, and troweling, and may include texture steps like brooming. Getting this sequence right matters because each step affects the surface quality and has a practical time window—doing things too early or too late can cause defects like tearing, roughness, or uneven patches. Curing, form removal, and reinforcement placement are separate activities and not part of the finishing sequence.
